The demand for technologically competent employees is not limited to mail line IT jobs. Information technology and computer literacy related knowledge and skills are becoming critical component, including management, economy, finance, power engineering, education, science, design and production processes, tourism, journalism, music, art to name just a few.

The Bachelor of Computer Science and IT intended to arm students with the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes for professional excellence, competences through computer science and IT theories and practice through quality teaching, research and innovation.

The faculty offers a variety of programs with rich content to learn fundamentals as well as advanced knowledge of computer science and information technology to help graduates obtain focus their ability in order to adapt and keep up with the rapid speed of technological innovations and diversification.

To endeavor to foster and nurture technologically literate graduates RSU has made all efforts necessary. In this connection RSU has built and equipped a modern computer lab, the first of its kind in Puntland State. The computer lab is not only used by RSU students but also helps other students from other institutions to horn their computer skills.

Thus keeping with the university’s commitment to improving its curriculum based on the needs of the society, the university is equipping the students with skills and expertise essential for the local community to facilitate its transformation to an information and communication based hub locally and internationally.
