Overview
The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMHS) was established in 2012 as part of a strategic effort to address the growing demand for qualified healthcare professionals in the region. Its core mission is to contribute to the health and well-being of Somali society by training ethical, skilled, and highly knowledgeable healthcare practitioners.
The faculty was founded with the goal of improving healthcare education, enhancing clinical training, and supporting public health initiatives through research and community service.
Currently, FMHS offers both academic and clinical services through various departments, including Medicine and Surgery, Public Health, Medical Laboratory, Nutrition and Dietetics, Nursing, Midwifery, Pharmacology.
To ensure the delivery of high-quality education, the faculty is equipped with a skills laboratory and libraries. Additionally, Kaafi Hospital serves as our main training site for undergraduate, graduate, and specialty programs.
